Counselor-in-Training (CIT) Program

Learn valuable leadership and confidence-building skills, make new friends and make lasting camp memories as a Counselor-In-Training (CIT). This popular program is designed for teens ages 13 to 16 who are enthusiastic, responsible, hardworking and love everything camp!

Candidates for the CIT program will apply, interview, and if selected, asked to participate.

Level I Certificate

CITs will spend 30 hours of classroom training to earn their certificate. Goals of the training include:

  • Gaining leadership and teamwork skills
  • Learning classroom management skills
  • Obtaining First Aid/CPR certification
Level II Certificate

Teens who have successfully completed Level I will have the opportunity to gain on-the-job training at our highly popular Summer Day Camp. CITs will choose two weeks from the summer camp schedule to work at one of our camp sites working hands-on with campers.

CITs will put skills learned from Level I certification to use while working side-by-side with a camp counselor to mentor campers.  Not only will CITs be working onsite with campers, but also accompanying them on a variety of different field trips throughout the summer.
