From July 6 to August 10, venture out to different parks and enjoy free shows and activities with your family.

Taiko Drum Show at Wonderwood Park

Lead Taiko drummer, Ringtaro is former member of the ONDEKOZA for 10 years and performed at EPCOT / Walt Disney World for 7 years daily. As the artistic director of ONDEKOZA, he visited over 26 countries and held over 1,000 performances including four concerts at Carnegie Hall.

In 2009, he has moved to Seattle and created “CHIKIRI” professional Taiko group and established “The School of TAIKO” with his partner Asako Tateishi.

Aerial Acrobatics & Circus Show at Rainier Vista Soccer Field

This local cirque-style performing troupe dazzles audiences with daring and dynamic feats of skill, grace, and strength. Whether performing on aerial silks, trapeze, or a myriad of other apparatuses, performers flip, spin, twist and fly! The fun continues as the audience joins the team for circus play and a dance party! Fun for all ages!

Petting Zoo at Woodland Creek Community Park

Don’t miss Dreamland Ponies Petting Zoo! Our petting zoo is no ordinary zoo…We have beautiful, majestic fairytale animals including miniature goats, wooly goats, soft bunnies, fuzzy guinea pigs, fluffy chickens, a tiny mini horse, a tiny mini pig, a mini alpaca and more! These special visitors will be available for meeting and petting from 2 – 3 pm.

Performing Dogs at Meridian Neighborhood Park

This performing canine team is made up of rescued border collies that entertain and educate through demonstrations of sports and more!

Children’s Singer/Songwriter at Depot Park

Eric Ode is a national award-winning children’s singer/songwriter, a widely published author and poet, and a thoroughly engaging entertainer. His upbeat, high-participation programs are bubbling over with fun, interactive music and include stories, skits, poetry, props and puppets.

How much do Play in the Parks cost?

All Play in the Parks activities are FREE!

What should I bring to a show?

Bring your own seating!  There may be a few picnic tables and benches but they get claimed quickly so bringing your own chairs or blanket will assure you get a comfy place to enjoy the show.

No alcohol is allowed in the park, so please leave any alcoholic beverages at home.

No smoking or vaping is allowed in the park.  Please step outside of the park boundaries to smoke or vape.
