Statement Of Significance An owner-built house built by Mr. Henry Krier who purchased the area which now encompasses Krier’s Subdivision and built this house. Krier developed one other house, subdivided the entire plat, established specific requirements for the construction of new housing there and sold the remaining lots. This house is an example of post-WWII housing and housing development popularly constructed in this locale, as the national trend in suburban development intensified in conjunction with the increased use of the automobile and a surge in population gowth and mobility. Physical Description This house appears to have been constructed according to a plan popularly built earlier in the 20th century and exhibits features derived from the bungalow style in conjunction with modern materials/details. Distinctive features include; symmetrical side-gable plan with prominent central porch which is recessed under the main roof, exposed rafter ends, kneebraces at gable ends, ground level entry and horizontal four-lite sash and casement sash. A 16 x 24 garage is also located on the site. Cladding has been altered. 1999: Extensively remodeled with a newer second story addition.
