Statement Of Significance A noteworthy early 20th Century residence which exhibits popular bungalow stylistic features and form. This house is fairly unique for this area of Lacey in which there is virtually no extant residential development from this era of the early-20th Century suburban development. This house which originally included a substantial pear orchard, was built for an executive with the Black Ball Ferry Company. It is located immediately adjacent to the old site of the Mountain View Golf Club established c. 1912. An older trailer court reportedly developed rather gradually on adjacent orchard land since the 1960s. Physical Description A distinctive early-20th century residence which appears to have been constructed according to a popular bungalow style plan and exhibits noteworthy details typical of the period. Features of note: popular side-gable plan/form, full width under-roof porch supported by wood, “tuscan” columns (indicative of Colonial Revival influences on the bungalow style), exposed rater ends at wide eaves, bracketed gable ends, variegated siding, atypical simple double-hung windows. Substantial flat roof addition (garage) to rear. A large older trailer park is adjacent to the house on former Orchard Land. A large leaded glass buffet and intact interior finishes remain in the house.
