Statement Of Significance A distinctive example of contemporary folk housing which, like traditional folk houses of the past, reflects the continued 20th Century need for basic/economical shelter without concern for fashionable stylistic trends. This modern folk house example reflects the 20th Century phenomena of prefabrication and mobility although it appears to be a particularly stylized “mobile home “. The core of this home appears to be an “Air Stream” type trailer home that has had two side wings attached to it. It has indeed lost its “mobility “. It was reportedly built for a wealthy Seattle executive and was one of the several homes the family owned, which may explain the streamline and stylized character of the house and its location on a large lot along a conventional suburban street. Physical Description The core of this home appears to be an “Air Stream” type trailer home which has had wings attached to each long side. One wing includes a carport and additional trailer hook-up. Exterior cladding in all aluminum. Other distinctive features include: repeated bands of aluminum window sash, glass louvered windows, horizontal fluted panels on core exterior (interior now) walls. Interior appears to be unaltered original fabric and site appears to have previously been carefully landscaped.
